Today Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dawn of a New Era (TDOANE) is 5 years old. Since its release the game has undergone tremendous changes, while we could spend time thinking about how far we have come and what difficulties we have faced, we here at Kaiba Corporation like to focus on the future! Currently we are planning many new features, let’s go over what they are now.

Link summoning was announced a little while back, while some players love this new change, others hate it. We are fully committed to keeping the game up to date and we will be introducing link summoning soon. Due to the fact that many players dislike these new rules, we will be adding in a special dueling mode that allows players to use the current rules if they wish, new cards won’t be added to this dueling mode and we will use the last TCG and OCG banlists available before the first link monster is released, additionally we will also be adding in a third dueling mode, this dueling mode will use the original rules, such as both players drawing a card on the first turn, this dueling mode will only have cards released up until the start of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. In short players will be able to chose between these 3 dueling modes when starting an unranked duel, for ranked duels we are only going to support the link summoning mode. We are planning to release these features early next month.

We have been working hard on the campaign mode and we will begin beta testing soon. There will be no public beta tests for the campaign, if you would like to be a beta tester keep an eye on our forums for the sign ups. The campaign mode will contain 50 opponents from the first series of Yu-Gi-Oh!, more expansions will be released later containing characters from other Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the campaign mode will be completely free just like all our other features, there will be no pay to win mechanics of any sort. We are planning to start beta testing the campaign early next month, the full release will come in June of this year.

The tournament mode has undergone several changes, we are planning to release it once the campaign has been released, while we faced several issues while creating this we are pleased to report that most of them have been resolved. We are going to make skill tests available next week, you can start practicing today by heading over to our single player mode. In addition to our deck sharing system, we are planning to implement a replay sharing system soon, this will allow players to easily share replays with each other, in addition to that we are planning to offer players the ability to back up their decks and replays on our cloud network.
